Purpose
Since its beginning on December 1, 1935, Radio Bible Hour, Inc. has developed into one of the most effective and respected Christian gospel ministries in the country. The operations of Radio Bible Hour include the productions and sponsorship of gospel radio broadcasts featuring our founder, Dr. J. Harold Smith. However, the radio ministry is only one facet of Radio Bible Hour's work. The organization is also involved in the production and distribution of gospel literature, Bibles, religious books, tape recordings, compact discs, and the publication of a monthly religious magazine entitled "The Good Neighbor". Another aspect of the ministry is the support of a number of missionaries and mission projects throughout the world.
The statement of beliefs and purposes of Radio Bible Hour, Inc. is as follows:
"Our desire is to see all men saved, regardless of race, color or religion. We believe in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost; the inspiration and infallibility of the Scriptures; the miracles of the Old Testament, as well as the New Testament; the virgin birth of Christ; the shed blood of Jesus as the only means of cleansing from sin; the literal bodily resurrection of Christ; His present high priesthood at the right hand of God; and His literal, visible, imminent return to reign on this earth. We believe in the eternal bliss of the redeemed and the eternal torment of those who die without Christ".
